I wrote this poem during my senior year of high school.
Afterwards I think I'll move
But I'm not sure where to.
And afterwards I think I'll fly
And I'll be sure to invite you.
Maybe afterwards I'll write a bit
And dedicate my song,
I'll dedicate you my best friend,
Who's been there all along.
I'll draw a picture afterwards
And paint the ocean blue
And draw the sky so full of birds
They can't fly out of view.
And maybe I'll dance a slow one
Sometime afterwards,
And stand on tip-toe, reaching high -
Tell my story without words.
And afterwards I think I'll plan
To act out the Third Scene
And maybe take a second bow
To fulfill my wildest dream.
And afterward I'll think of you
And pretend you're here with me.
'Cause afterward I'll be alone
And I'll need some company.
