I have recently overcome a serious addiction. This poem is in reference to it.
Enticing, enviting, forgiving
a friend

No judgment, no criticisims
the means to an end

Sunshine, rain, sleet or snow
always there, never saying no

No worries noe fears no responsibilities
my world fades to grey
a friend

No job, no family, no friends to call upon

Where did they all go?
A friend?

Suddenly--- a breakthrough!
I lost it all because of you!

A friend?
Not a friend, a foe

How could I have let you in?
Lies, broken promises
it was all pretend

But now I know the truth
my world is in colour again
