my first short screenplay.

Its mid afternoon, a boy and a girl are standing in front of their school, No one is out but them. They stand there and then begin to walk

Dana
Why did you want me to cut out so badly? You know I hate getting in trouble.

Eric
I want to show you something I think you would like.

Dana
I hope its good because I could be in U.S history looking at Mr.McD’s ass.

Eric
He’s really lame. I hate how he tells jokes and then laughs; but nothing comes out. It reminds me of a muppet.

Dana
I love that about him, it makes him look so adorable. I want to marry him

Eric
So does every other girl in our school. Here it is.

They are standing in front of a cemetery and walk in and walk down the road to a section of grades and sit down.

Dana
I love it here, good choice.

Eric
I know you do, It’s a bit morbid but peaceful. Want to play a game?

Dana
Sure

Eric
Well it isn’t exactly a game its more like we pick a name off one of these graves and make up that persons life. See any names you like

Dana
Let me look.

She pauses for a second and looks around at the endless tombstones that surround them.

Dana

Ok. I got one. That one right over there Ingrid Holmes 1965-2000 Beloved wife and mother. She was pretty young. I’m guessing that she had some kind of cancer. It ate away at her immune system and destroyed her.

Eric
She was a hardworking woman all her life and she was a waitress.

Dana
Waitress? I imagine her having some sort of distinguished job, something honorable not a fucking waitress. I think she must have been a lawyer, who cared more about her work then her family. She probably smoked a few packs a day got lung cancer. She died not knowing her family too well and on her deathbed gave a little speech about how much she regrets it all. But it was too late and then she bit the big one.

Eric
Maybe? Maybe she was a waitress who worked hard all the time trying to please everyone and was always around for her family but they didn’t appreciate her enough until she was dead. It was then they realized how good they had it. How this incredible woman gave her life to serve others and never left a moment for herself. Dana, What do you want?

Dana
That’s such a vague question but do you really want to know?

Eric
I asked didn’t I ?

She puts a hand on one of his shoulders.

Dana
Are you ready? Do you think you are ready? I need to know this

Eric
I’m Ready

Dana
Ok here it goes. I want to write a poem as beautiful as Do not go gentle into that goodnight by Dylan Thomas. I want a band that makes people want to move, where I can jump around on stage and sing growly-raspy about issues that make me mad and turn me on. I want to be in cirque du soleil. I want world peace and some great sex. I want to
