inspired from a child's whimsical wish
Ah, but to take your hand,
and venture down amongst the faeries' land.
Nestled deep just past what a garden grows
safe, we are, within the midnight’s glow.
Pathway presented, in woven maze,
marbled by a fog’s reflecting haze.
Mysteries… do we venture more?
Expectation, sighted,
ah , yes this be our lure.
At the path’s end,
cattails and iris bloom,
we are guarded from the witch’s doom.
Firmly planted, we, on solid ground
nature’s gifts, provided sweetly, by her sound.
Wood line and greenish hues,
the water meanders and gently moves.
Under stone and pebble’s rule,
now we sit here, by the destine pool.
Star lit ripples float the pond,
is but a dream not yet far beyond?
Enter here,
openings and dark shadows form the cave
grab my hand, let us be brave.
Footprints made as we venture,
sensing true excitement, bordering our rapture.
Timeless, the journeys, memories of our past,
vivid imagery momentary grasp.
Eyesight adjusting to its lack.
Could dragons filter in from the back?
Guard us,
lovely charms, trinkets of pewter and gold
not your heart, could it be sold.
Music and songs dancing the air,
like the tint from a maiden’s hair.
Your dreams and nighttime rhymes
calling through medieval mystic chimes.
From centuries and warlocks alike
never shall your wants be blight.
Go a head,
to you this gift, have no fear
see it for real and see it clear.
A blessing if my memory serves me well
from out of a childhood’s dream it swells.
Open the box,
for it has no locks,
Peer within,
for to you, I send.
A pair of blue tipped wings,
so you may join the faeries’ ring.
