About a girl translating her heart into words, and wonder if she should share.
The Sinister Serenades.

There beyond the shadows,
beyond the wilderness,
beyond the vista of the naked eye.
Sits a girl.

She sits alone, on a bench.
On her stomach with only a pen and paper.
With only one person on her mind.
And writes as fast as she can,
as to not exclude a detail of his smile,
only seconds ago.

Oh curse her undependabe mind.

She hums a sweet tune,
and composes her sorrowful symphony.
Her pen flying,
her memory fading.

It's beautiful,
amazing, lilting, poetic.
Lovely.

And her smile falls into a frown,
she knows he will never hear it.
Her beautiful serenade,
to her sweet lover.

She, too timid a girl
would never as to mention such a thing.
She wouldn't risk ruining what they have.

She can imagine his face,
confused, disgusted.
As she playes
her sinister serenade.
