thoughts of this scattered mind

Tuesday morning, 10: 35 a.m.
Flavored coffee steaming next to me
Dark room of seclusion to sit in
My love sleeps silently
His breath; my metronome
Random thoughts percolate in my brain
Who am I?
Where do I go?
Will I ever be the same?

Wrapped in my blanket of blue
Tension headaches
Soft glow of the monitor
Sunlight does it’s damndest to creep into the window
Sullen ache inside, reminding me of the children I miss
Never-ending necessity to write the emotion within
Walking backwards through my life
Learning to live once more
Baby steps, cautious and new.

Starting over
Will this monotony never end?
Stolen serenity in this world gone mad
Constantly shifting ‘tween happy or sad
Love holds me up
Upon my crumbling pedestal
In you do I trust
My beautiful dark seraph.
