A school assignment. I wrote about my little accident on a motorbike.
Spurring along the deserted road in Choa Chu Kang fish farm area, Sam offered me a go at controlling the motorcycle of hers. That was definitely on my list of “Top 10 things to do before I die”, so I gladly swapped my position on the bike for hers.

With her assistance, I managed to climb onto the control seat, though my feet couldn’t reach the ground (this world sadly rarely caters to those who are not within average scales). After some brief explanation of the controls of the bike, I was eager to go.

Gripping the handlebar, I turned it and we grooved forwards. Ah, the experience was an epitome of thrill. However, rather quickly the bike changed to a higher gear on its own, and was getting out of control. The bike was taking me instead. In that frenzied state I simply forgot where Sam said the brake was. Instinctively, I tried to locate the brake pedal on the bike, but there was no such pedal. I soon saw a tree approaching us. As the tree appeared bigger I wished it was all just a dream, because the image of both of us in hospital flashed before me. I screamed and shut my eyes in panic, while Sam was trying to get me to let go of the handle, which I gripped for life, that which made the bike accelerate.

The crash created bruises, scrapes and scratches for us, whilst the bike appeared to require some surgery. The headlight was smashed, one side mirror got unattached, and the bike was a tad tilted to the side.

Never again did Sam offer me to try riding.
