This is a situation where life dealt lemons. The solution was to make lemonade.
It demonstrates a poor quality of character in a man,
who has not the ability to admit when he is wrong and for that in which he stands.
It pains me how things happened surrounding this circumstance,
I had hoped that it would have changed and given us another chance.

For all the times that I was not there to comfort you when you pained,
to kiss your boo-boo’s, or explain the reasons of the rain,
inside me I know there is no one else to blame,
so here and now for this I will try to explain.

The birthday parties I missed when you were both three and four,
the Christmas presents you’d see me bringing thru the front door,
the reasons there were no answers when you wanted to know more,
know in my heart you kids I’ll always adore.

The kite that I never got to teach you to fly,
the times of not being with you that I’d break down and cry,
the venom mom would spew when she’d call me a lie,
although she would never bothered to explain to you why.

The way the birds cared for their eggs when we saw them in their nest,
because I wasn’t there didn’t mean I loved you any less,
but unlike those birds we created such an ugly mess,
that in the interest of you kids we thought this would be best.

No compensation would be enough in anything that I say or do,
nor would it replace the love and joy that comes with you.
I’m guilty of making bad decisions in some of the things that I did,
like choosing your mother when I decided to have kids.
