A poem I wrote the winter of 2005. This is a very dark, depressed piece.
The Morning comes
But the light of day has forgotten to rise
The sun burns black
It's embers engulfing me
Ashy flames burning
Trapping me in familiar darkness
I can't escape

The fire of ice
I freeze as I burn
A death so slow, so unbearable
I have brought it upon myself
Haven't I
Did I ask the sun for murder
Did I ask the light to leave

The warm heart is cold only toward me
What have I done
The target of the missiles
The outlet of anger
Is my death such a small price to pay
Young yet I am the cause of your pain
So that you wish me gone
You wish my suffering
You wish my death

The light of dark is no where in sight
A black, endless road lined with suicide trees
I truly tried, gave it my all
But my all shall never suffice
I cannot change your hatred
I have no where left to go
A labyrinth of dark emotions
Alone I stand, alone I'll fall
And, oblivious, the world continues to turn
