A secret path my feet now walk,
one where I find no reason to talk.
Bottled up emotions kept inside,
a refuge where I choose to reside.

The secret path I walk alone,
a world that I can call my own.
No one is permitted within.
That’s the way it’s always been.

The secret path leads me on,
everything else seems to be gone.
Misery my companion, the pain great.
I tread the path, and try to shake the hate.

The secret path suddenly filled with light.
A welcoming presence tells me it will be alright.
God comes to me, and love floods my heart,
when reminded he’s been there from the start.

The secret path I walk no more.
I’m not the same as I was before.
It’s amazing what was found there,
with the realization someone did care.
