bits of my poems that me and my friends are turning into songs I needed to copyright them
Another summer come and gone
Time to put it a song
And burn every verse
So we can forget how every inch of our heart hurts.

We’ll never live this world down
Might as well face it
And stop hiding
Behind a record player in your parent's basement
But there are so many nights for us not to remember
So many nights for us to regret
And of all the faces I met in these past four years
You’re the only one I don't think I'll forget.

Oh we've been hatching our getaway
For years, four years at the end of this year
But all we do is talk in circles
Because we're still sitting here
One day we'll do it
Set out on the road
And I’m just a bit afraid
Of not knowing where to go
I’m scared of looking in your eyes tonight
And seeing those gears turning
Thinking "if we steal the car now
We’ll be in Mexico by morning"

Can we forget the bed of roses?
Throw away the sweet nothings
I’ve been worn out from romance
And all the trouble that it brings
No just pour another drink
And be out before the sunrise
I won't feel any need to see you
After the sunlight kisses my eyes

My hearts been fragile for far too long
Anymore weight and it'll just break
And it's already been broken a few times beyond repair
And I’m not willing to test what it could take.

Don’t waste the silence
You’ll never find anything as sacred again
It’s like the perfect melody
Or the words that come flowing from a pen

Tonight everything is on fire
To renew that light from your eyes
It's hasn't been there in a while
Washed out from too many cries
But if you can manage to smile
Even if it's for one night
I would bring the stars down from the sky
Just to make you feel all right

I could go anywhere on this coast and not forget the way you make me feel
I could drift away for years in the Atlantic and still never heal
So I said I’m going to California to fall out of love
Don’t call, don't write.
I’m going to California to lose the pieces of my heart
That make me think of you at night
