"You have been chosen over many others," said a voice from behind. "Please not me! The skeletons in my closet rattle. My past is not good," I said as I heard the screams and looked at the smoke and flames of the crashed plane. Suddenly I felt lightheaded as my body was floating in air and His soothing voice said, "I need your help. A mother is looking for her child. Search near the cockpit." I entered a ragged gap in the plane and picked up a crying baby and brought it outside and laid it gently on the ground. Then He said, "Fly to the other side of the plane and you will find the mother." "What! How can I do that," I said as the smoke and flames were now everywhere. Then suddenly I lifted up and flew over the wreckage of the plane and there was a woman who I instinctively knew to be the mother. I held the mother in my arms as we flew over the flames to the spot where I had laid her daughter. She took the infant into her arms and wept, united one last time. They then closed their eyes and went into a deep sleep and I realized there were no longer screams around me as I was the only one still alive. Then He spoke again, "You have been chosen by me, not to be of this world, but of my realm. You are now my angel and will watch over those I choose." My body had become spirit and I was chosen for an eternal adventure. (286 words)
