i used imagery and chose to describe a still winter night, drawing on past memories
The static stillness of death
Holds tight to a winter night
The frigid air freezes quick the breath
Of a wind smothered silent; Alight
Is the darkness with the dazzling wink
Of a delicate dusting of diamond pieces
The silver moon full in a sea of black ink
The beautiful shimmer of many a star never ceases
An unbroken silence that nothing dare break
A mysteriously dangerous edge to the still
An unnatural tension the crisp air can’t shake
Waiting for something to snap in the chill
