This is a poem I wrote shortly after 9/11 and I'd thought I would share it with you.
"A MINUTE OF ETERNITY"

In the midst of confusion
Stands a hero
Through the rubble and debris
He lost his life
It seemed like a minute of eternity

While the people watched T.V. in horror
Firefighters and police searched for survivors
Then the search seemed hopeless
Then all hope was gone
It seemed like a minute of eternity

The country came together as no one has seen before
"United We Stand" was the voice of this crowd
As fear struck every person in every land
It seemed like a minute of eternity

The world united
The "Star Spangled Banner was sung in every land
The American flag was held in every hand
As we came together and sung "God Bless America"
It seemed like a minute of eternity

We now live in fear
The only way out, prayer
As people's voices ring out
We hear "God Save America"
It seemed like a minute of eternity

In the midst of confusion
Stood heroes
Whe lost their lives
It seemed like a minute of eternity
