Regarding each new day, comforted in the knowledge that I'm not alone.
As I gaze upon the emerald ocean
crystalized by the morning dew,
the black velvet sheet
recedes into the Maker's pouch.
The spectrum of life reveals itself,
from the deepest violets, to the purplest blues,
on to the rubiest scarlet, fading to
a silvery lined golden delight,
being lifted, risen above, for everyone's sight.
I gaze at the majestic globe, feeling it share its substance,
giving essence to all I see.
Without it I am blind, cold, nothing.
But fear I know not, for he comes without delay,
asking for nothing.
Now that he's here, I can go about my day, reassured that he's guiding my way.
I will return as he goes to rest,
to see his successor take the watch.
Upon me and you, the successor will bestow his velvety cloth
of glittering jewels.
By this we know, we are precious and not alone.
He will guide our dreams,
sprinkling us with his silvery dust,
as he watches over our sleep.
Now I can end my day,
knowing he will not leave me
until he is relieve by his Majesty.
