Our govern ment is wacky. See what I think.
There is quite a bit going on in the government right now. To tell the truth it’s not all good, either. One good thing is that it gives people many different opinions, and we can freely say them. I will share my insight on the government, economy, foreign affairs and alliances, and how we can improve these.

My opinion on the government is, it’s in the toilet. What happened to the time when Presidents were honest, the elected officials didn’t malice children, and people were elected into office because of their platforms. Not because they could ruin their opponents’ reputation better. This is most likely not how the fathers of our country wanted the government to be run. I don’t mean to be rude to the government officials but, children could do a better job of running the government and they wouldn’t malice each other. Another thing that bothers me is the “No Child Left Behind Act.” It’s great to help children keep up with the other children in school but in doing this they’re holding other children back from reaching their full potential. This act makes it so higher level thinking children can’t be challenged; to let the child know what they are capable of.

The economy is doing fair in my opinion. We aren’t in a depression. Although, we aren’t doing that well because of the dept from the war in Iraq. We are about $100,000 deeper in dept every day because of it.

Foreign affairs are doing pretty badly but not as bad as it could be. Foreign aid is going out to counties in need at a good pace. Then again, we are not sending any help to places that really need help. For example, Africa, where a genocide is taking place. We shouldn’t wait until they ask us for help. We didn’t with Iraq. We should send them food and medical supplies. One thing that I really don’t like in the foreign affairs is the war in Iraq. It’s obvious they don’t care anymore, so why should we keep sending family members there to die? So we get the feeling we are redeeming ourselves in the eyes of the world.

This war isn’t doing any good in getting more alliances like we wanted, either. If we didn’t try to control every country we would get a lot more alliances. Right now there are several countries that would love to see this strong and free nation crumble before their very eyes. At the rate we are going with the war those countries may just gat their wish.

There are several ways each problem can be solved. The governments problems can be solve but only with a lot of work. For starters, the candidates for the 2008 presidential elections could tell just what they are going to do for the country if elected and not tell that their opponents stole their little sisters piggy bank when he or she was five-years old. That’s not right but it has nothing to do with political issue or the future of this country. Another thing that really doesn’t need to change just improved is the “No Child Left Behind Act.” Keep helping children keep up but let the higher level thinking children move faster. Maybe even let them wander into their next year’s curriculum, showing them they can think higher level than what they are now.

The economy doesn’t need a great deal of help. There is one thing they can do to improve the economy though. Stop the war in Iraq. We need to pay off the debts we already have. We do not need more of them.

We could improve foreign affairs and alliances by sending aid to Africa. Send a group of people age 13-50 with food, medical supplies, and nets KEY club members get to put over peoples beds to have instead of 3,000 people die a year from malaria maybe only one-hundred. Another thing we could do is stop the war in Iraq. That will promote World peace and we would have more alliances. More countries would be willing to help us, if needed.

Those are my opinions on the government, economy, foreign affairs and alliances, and how we could improve this nation and why my opinions are the opinions that they are. You may not agree with them. You may not even like them, but we have the right to free speech in this country.
