A poem of a girl who is trying hard to forget a past love.
She should really say goodbye to him
She should really let him go
But how does she lose him without losing herself?
This is an answer she would give anything to know

It happens everytime, never once has she failed
She keeps running back to the one thing she needs to walk away from
Maybe she'd just rather feel pain than feel nothing at all
To hopelessness, emptiness, weakness, she doesn't want to succumb

Weakness: the one thing she's most afraid of
It even beats the dread of losing all that she's put her whole soul into
Choking back tears and throwing away thoughts
Maybe it's easier just not to care, become what they want her to

So it becomes a secret, everything she feels for him
Only to be known by her heart, tear-stained paper, and a pen
Reality tells her that he'll never know, much less ever care
Lately she'd give everything for some peace and serenity again

So she says goodbye, not to a boy, or friends, or feelings, but to this twisted viww of reality
She wakes up new from the edge of an overwhelming life of a dream
Yesterday was full of pain, tears, and mystery
But it's strength and determination that will make tomorrow everything it seems
