Some of the magic of storytelling in a free form poem.
The Storyteller
by Terry Burres

Who will try these wondrous stories?
I have tales for young and for old.
Who will come and sit for a moment
And listen to the things I know?

For I have tales of a knight’s shining glory.
There are tales of vengeful witches
And haunting ghosties,too.
Dragons who flash their fires of danger.
Fairies with gossamer wings that can
fly around this very room.

Come and hear these fabulous stories.
Let your imagination wing toward the sky.
Who will try these wonderful stories?
I know you’ll be glad if you do.

Hear of clowns that do the funniest things.
Of soaring beanstalks that reach for the sky.
Pirate ships that sail the stormy seas.
Magic coins that grant the wildest wishes,
All the treasure you can hold.
You can keep them for your leisure

I can tie them up with a ribbon.
I have lots of tales to share.
Who will come and sit for a moment
And listen to the things I know?
