Anticipation and hope from unidentifed survivor of Huricane Katrina.
The winds blew through our home today,
Leaving nothing in it's way.
Water is everywhere, a Mississippi blue.
Everything is gone from view.
The water tower and our Chevy too.
Here we sit amongst the crowd,
Waiting for someone to speak outloud.
Food and water are coming they say.
Is it true? Are they really coming this way?
Still we sit and wonder why,
Has God forsaken us? Has he heard our cry?
The people do as they are told.
Coming here with their sick and the old.
Still we wait for those to come.
Medicine is scarce and only for some.
We need your help.
We need to go home.
I can't find my mother in this Superdome.
While waiting for mom, I heard someone say,
"The winds blew through our home today."
