A poem in memoriam for our dog, Wicket
IN LOVING MEMORY

My heart is filled with sadness,
There's no room for joy today;
On the 30th of April,
My mate Wicket passed away.

That little heart that beat,
For more than 13 years,
Finally has just worn out,
And caused us many tears

He was left to live with us,
When his owner went away;
For she married an American,
And now lives in L.A.

The love and joy he gave us,
Is more than we can say;
His selfless love and his devotion,
We never can repay.

To know him was to love him,,
As many folk will tell;
As all our friends and neighbours,
Knew him very well.

Many people round the world,
Took him as a cyber pet;
And put him on their web sites,
How loving can one get?

And now that he has left us,
I feel so very sure,
He will unerringly find his way,
Through Heaven's Doggy Door.
