He, to eyedog, goes right up
to the Romney, Leicester
or Merino. He made them
emblem takers and envoys,
to commandeer their path,
to give them their next paddock,
to taste hay and other feed.

Both hogget and two-tooth,
the four tooth and eight tooth,
each skilled with grey-headedness
each carried in His bosom

all sheared yet all woolly
all Grenade dipped yet warm
