This is a poem about someone in my life.
You

You are the one
Who pushes and pushes me
But gives me no support when I need it most,
Who tells me what I should do
But never believes in me.
You are the one
Who believes that perfection is real
And pushes me to strive for perfection,
But says that I will never be good enough
No matter what I do or say.
You are the one
Who says I am never right
And you are never wrong,
Who never takes the time
To listen to my side of the story.
You are the one
Who assumes the worse of me
Without listening to what I have to say,
Who says I should be perfect
Just like you.
You are the one
Whom I can never turn to for help
But I can always count on
To criticize me
When I’m at my lowest.
You are the one
Who never gives me the time of day
Always turning a cold shoulder when I’m around,
Who puts me down
Day after day.
You are the one
Who hurts me most
When I can’t seem to get up,
Who always knows just what to say
To make my day that much worse.
