Poem reviewing the ruining of the planet by the very lives that depend on its existence.
Used up

We've been using you with greed, never
thinking twice of what you may become
We’ve been using you with greed, draining
your resources out,
We’ve been using you with greed,
taking, no stealing from your life,
We’ve been using you with greed, seldom
replacing what we have taken out.
We’ve been using you with greed, now
we are noticing your change.
We’ve been using you with greed, forecasting
what doom will soon result.
We’ve been using you with greed, wondering
which resource we will soon be living without.
We’ve been using you with greed,
and are now considering how to turn back what we have done.
Because we are noticing that
your storms are stronger,
your rain is saltier,
your shakes more violent,
your snow deeper,
your heat seems immeasurable.

We are realizing now that we've used you with greed,
and now must face the outcome,
we are realizing, now that it is too late, that we can not replace what we have taken.
Earth,
we appreciate what you've been,
sorry all we have to show for your resources now are gases and melting glaciers,
but most of all
Earth
sorry to say,
we have now,
used you up.
