A tribute to all Holocaust victims.
Tears are falling
From his eyes,
I can almost see him there,
I watch as he sits and cries,
And I try to interpret the tears,
Falling from his sad eyes;

A tear of longing,
Longing for his family,
Longing for his home,
Longing for who he used to be,
Longing for love,
Longing for life as it should be;

A tear of remembrance,
Remembrance of life,
Remembrance of love,
Remembrance of his loving wife,
Remembrance of truth and honor,
Remembrance of a good life;

A tear of pure fear,
Fear of tomorrow,
Fear of the role call,
And fear of the oncoming sorrow,
A fear that life may end today,
A tear that says "life is borrowed";

The last tear that he sheds,
Is a tear of love,
As man hears his God,
Calling from above,
And his spirit flies from Earth,
Graceful as a dove.

One more tear
Will fall tonight,
A tear of my very own,
I watched a prisoner die tonight,
Because he was a Jew,
And now his soul has taken flight,
He's out there asking you
To remember the holocaust,
Remember the fight,
And to make sure the future stays bright.
