To be strong in the face of the world.
There are time when I feel weak, rushed, just part of the crowd. Then I have those moments when I look out into my world objectively and wonder why everyone is doing what they are doing. I wonder if I am the only person who knows where I am going. It is an empowering moment, a moment when you realise that you have control over your own life.

I walk in a sea of the mindless
One face of many.
I am alone in the crowd,
But should I follow the flow,
I just become another part,
Faceless,
Alone,
Surrounded by a sea.
I am the tide.
Strong.
I do not move with the flow,
I create the flow.
On the surface I appear calm,
Steady,
But I am neither calm nor steady.
I am the under-toe,
Rushing away from the flow.
I am quiet,
hidden,
A torrent of emotions.
Strong,
I oppose all forces.
I am not one face of many, I am myself.
I do not walk in the sea of the mindless,
I follow the crowd because the crowd walks my way.
I am the tide and even nature herself must yeild.
I am strong.
I watch.
Neither part of the sea nor a lone being pushing against it.
I am the tide.
