a poem about poverty in africa . hope u like it!
I am silent
But you are not
You yell obscenities
Shout absurdities
You,
embarrass yourself
Alone.

I am content
But you are not
You’re hollow, empty
Broken up inside
Tormented
Faded

I am frozen
When you are not
you move among the shadows Cast over our decaying world
Helpless but encouraged
Determined
Fearless

I am living
When you are dead
I don’t yell, scream or sit in sulking silence.
I, am not determined.
I have lost all respect, hope
And any vague flicker of a life…
Has long since died inside me.
Yet you,
Are dead.

I am nothing
But you a but a symbol of something
Something great
Something clean
Something feared

You are shunned
Because you different
Ignored
Because you right

I watch in silence
As they kill you
As the murder you with there lies
Muffling you’re screams. You’re yells.
For change.

And we.
We succumb to their unjustified ways
Blinded by our insecurities
We,
Drown
Faithfully
in their horrible Sea of Corrupt

You are hope.
Dark infinite hope
A mother hope
A father’s hope
A Childs sweet innocent
Hope
for a better, safer world

Yet I,
disgraced
Worn
Indifferent
I am alive
And you….
You are dead.
Or slowly dying
