One of my dreams
Smiles on faces
Gentle chuckles evolve
Into roaring laughter
From everyone around.

I sit in darkness,
Praying for a sign of life.
Rain falling from my eyes
As I remain in my bubble.

I want to feel what they
Feel. I want to be happy
Like them. I take a can
And begin drinking.

One can down. Two cans
Down. Three cans down.
I’m smiling. I’m laughing.
I finally feel what they feel.
