Glowing

Well and truly loved –
The sound of that phrase pleases me so
And brings such pure delight
To the memory of just one day together.
How often do souls pass like ships in the night
Sensing the someone special
Who stands and breathes only a hair’s width away
And then sighing, moves on?

Yet we came together, found each other at last.
Melded - bodies, souls, minds - touching.
Two spirits enfolding, merging, loving.
The smile on your face and laughter in my soul
Cascades through the ages ahead and behind, My Love.
But what happens if we don’t see
And it’s not this life at all,
But some other, some distant one
Where we’ll know what’s meant to be?

How many times have we been friends or family,
Loving but never blending into one another
In quite the Self Same way?
Are we to be satisfied,
Or do our spirits groan and ache the way I do?
God, do I say, Thy will be done and be done
When my will is yours and yours mine,
In hope that perhaps next time
You’ll make some space, room just for me,
The Love of This Life?

I see for now I journey still.
The road goes on and with each turn comes clear,
Love, adventure, moments of grace
And sheer delight behind each glowing door.
So for now Adieu, My Love. Adieu.
I’ll pat away the pain and know
That all is as it shall be.
Be well, My Love. Take care, My Love and so for now, Adieu.
