They’d been together now for years, never knowing if it would ever be safe for the young girl to go outside.

The seven protected her as best they could. Providing her with the best food and clothes their short supply of money could afford. Toiling daily in their mine didn’t earn much, and that they were away for most of the day only made the danger worse.

Left alone each day to care for the small house, mending the clothes they wore till no amount of thread could hold them together.

She was so lonely, after getting them their breakfast and seeing them off for the day’s mining, she’d spend the entire day alone with her thoughts, till they returned well after sunset.

She was overjoyed then, when the knock on the door came, and she heard the kindly voice of the old woman…
