This poem inquires if one can be in love after a short time.
Love Life

8 months.

Is that too soon

to decide if you love someone?

Not to those who believe in love at first sight.

But what happens -- when the initial newness

of a relationship wears off?

What happens when you start to fight?

But what if you don't fight?

Just keep your feelings all

bottled up until you explode

like a shaken up bottle of pop?

That doesn't seem to be the way to do things.

No.

I think if you want to keep the love going,

you have to slowly let out the carbonation,

Talk out problems as they arise.

Instead of just exploding;

creating a very sticky situation

that can be hard to clean up,

or even doing it so much

that you have no desire

to clean up at all.

To just leave the whole thing--

Is 8 months too early?

I don't think so,

as long as you're willing to work through

the life

in love life.
