A short story of a heartbroken girl bouncing back into reality.
My dark hair falls in front of my face. I smile. So witty. So funny. So smooth. The perfect guy. Fair hair always having to be pushed out of your eyes. Dark eyes, the darkest brown before black. A perfect pearly smile. Breath taking. You smile as you push the hair out of my eyes. Kiss my cheek, tender and soft.
"Hey." I say looking up to your gleaming face.
"Fancy seeing you here." I distantly here you say. I'm captivated by those deep eyes.

My world shatters. By one sigh, one word and one look.
"Listen," you half sigh. Oh god it's coming. Some perfect guy eh? Whatever let me just brace myself. I smile hoping I'm imagining it. You smile, head to one side. Typical. Hands in pockets looking at the floor half wincing at the task facing you.
"Listen," you repeat, "You're great an' all but..." 'Oh save it for someone who'll listen.' I think as I stand and stalk off, hair blowing in the wind. You're not the one who's gonna leave with their dignity, Take that heartbreaker. Beaten to the punchline. Ouch that's gotta hurt. I think as I smile to myself. I flounce up to my friends. Toss my hair over my shoulder. Turn to give you once last look. A look that says, "Well look at that! I bounced back!"
