Poem about how I derive my strength from my children.
MY CHILDREN – The Loves of My Life

Starting your life all over again
Picking up the pieces of a shattered dream.
Traveling thousands of miles away from home on your own.
Fighting off fears…fighting off loneliness
It can be very scary.

It was time to rewrite history;
Time to reset my life path for the future
For my children.

I was able to pick up the pieces of that shattered dream
I was able to fight off fears and fight off loneliness.
I was able to stand tall, move forward,
And bounce back higher.

Thoughts of my children are ennobling
Thoughts of them fortify me.

Though distance may prevent me
From putting my arms around their shoulders everyday
From hugging them and feeling them close to me everyday
The exchange of “I love You’s” everyday over the phone
Has made us very close.

When their Dad tells them “you’re just like your mother”!
I smile…..and so do they. They’re proud of it!
That makes me proud!

When we see each other, we’re inseparable.
We laugh a lot, we giggle a lot, we whisper a lot and we play a lot.

My eldest daughter is my best friend
My son is my knight in shining armor
My youngest daughter is my princess

I have no regrets.
I am at peace with life because of my children.
I love life because of my children.

The greatest loves of my life are…..MY CHILDREN
