A little poem I wrote to get out of my writer's block.
I sit and think for hours and days,
My mind stays numb without a thought,
An idea comes to mind but then quickly slips away,
I’m pledged in a curse called Writer’s block.

My ideas are trapped in a maze,
Without place to escape,
I stare at this paper in a daze,
My writing abilities have gone out of shape.

A cure for this curse is hard to obtain,
A battle must be fought,
And I must suffer through the pain,
Or the curse will prevail and my fighting all for naught.

As I finish this poem I come to realize,
Mouth a gape in shock,
A battle I won to claim my prize,
I have conquered the curse called Writer’s block.
