This is a poem about things that are feared on the inside, like love, hate and betrayel.
Fear is a state of mind,
Leaving everything else behind,
Afraid to love, to hate, to die,
Afraid to even ask me why
Why do we fear?
not why, but what,
What we fear
is really what we hold so dear
Afraid...
of being betrayed?
How about loved?
About praise?
Are you afraid to praise?
Are you afraid to hope?
I'm afraid,
Of what? you might say,
I'm afraid of making it through to the next day,
Of waking up, of liveing again,
I being someone I've never been,
Of feeling loved,
I'm even afraid of falling in love,
I'm afraid of betrayel,
I'm afraid of hate,
I'm afraid of people,
Making me wait,
I'm afraid, and so are you,
What left else is there to do?
I care but that doesn't matter,
We just step up, climbing the ladder,
Higher and higher we reach,
More and more we try to teach,
What do they know?
Telling us to face our fears,
What if we fear what we hold so dear,
How do we face it?
What do we do?
After all that fear puts us through.
We can't run,
We can't hide,
There's no fun
and we can't lie.
Fear Fear Fear
