These are four brief poems that were too short to file one at a time
PROJECTION
May 4, 2007

You hold me up to
your face like a mirror
so you can pick off the
flaws with your grubby
fingers one-by-one so you
don't have to face them
in your own mirror.

BIKE RIDING
May 5, 2007

I love the hills/
I hate them.
Going down they are
a lover's crooning
breeze
but going up
with pedal to the
knees
they are a heartache
full of
pleas.

MINIATURE GOLF
May 4, 2007

Our arms circled a bucket
of balls, but we only chose
one each, and out of a handful
of clubs we only needed
one apiece. We took a container
and set up a target beneath
the bars where the fox used to
fly and proceeded to swing
our arms for joy, sending forth
the pimpled spheres before us.

WARM AUTUMN NIGHT
May 4, 2007

Day slid kindly into
night so warm the
geckos never slept.
They pranced on the
roof all night
and sang their
summer clicking songs
to the stars instead
