Musings of what lingers beyond that border of 'old'
I hope one day to grow old.
I hope one day I can openly talk about how it burns when I piss
I hope one day that children, grandchildren, nieces nephews snigger behind my back at how senile I’ve become. Not knowing what I was like at seventeen.
I hope one day I can shout at children for being too loud.
I hope one day I’ll complain about the music kids listen to nowadays; “It all sounds like noise” Whilst I sit in my living room popping pills and blaring drum ‘n bass.
I hope one day I’ll see death as a goal not a threat
I hope one day I can recall my youth through the scars on my hands,
I hope one day I can recall… recall… recall?
I hope one day I became helpless but still have the audacity to go it alone.
I hope one day I can still laugh at my failures
I hope one day I can still laugh at my successes
I hope one day comes, but not too soon.
