Lilac Walls & Rainbow Brite Abuse Poetry

Small memories she recalls-
Such as lilac bedroom walls.
A Rainbow Brite doll that was her best friend-
Keeping her secrets till the end.
Remembering the mother consumed with alcohol-
And being forced to stare at those lilac walls.
The father who thought of her as his wife-
Taking more of her-seeking to destroy her life.
Mother was too busy with pampering her pets-
So father made use of every second he could get.
Lilac walls, and Rainbow Brite next to me-
They were my witnesses to what Mother refused to see.
Few pictures remain-
And lies they contain!
On them are written false words-
Things never felt, spoken, nor heard.
"My Three Girls" there in the ink-
Of a mother who watched that abuse-and didn't blink.
Love was not granted to those girls-
Only misery, pain and darkened worlds.
But in that darkness, I still see lilac walls-
And remember mother ignoring my screams, my calls.
Lilac walls and Rainbow Brite-
He was too strong for me to fight.
She refused to protect me-
Yet blames me for this misery.
Well, that little girl-fragile and broken-
Is grown up and sharing secrets once said to never be spoken.
Lilac walls and Rainbow Brite-
My voice I now give flight…
