For Awhile I Will Smile
The sun rises, and flowers bloom
The sun sets, and they wither away
There's no reason to be sad
For tomorrow brings us another day
Birds will sing and chirp
Dogs will "sit" and "stay"
Children will swing and laugh
But how long will they play
Before the moon touches the sky
And stars dot the vast blackness
Giving me a little light in the dark
However, I still feel much sadness
The black fades as dusk turns to dawn
And the birds, dogs, and children
Have returned to the green lawn
And for awhile I will smile
Happiness will fill my soul
And everything will be good
Nothing bad will be on my mind
And things will be as they should

Fallen Spirit
Once I had it all in my grasp
Then someone hit me with a rock
I fell for an eternity into a deep dark pit
My wings broken in the fall so I can not fly
Only lie and watch the strangeness of now
For your tommorrows are my yesterdays Today, it is a part of the past
This keeps me confused and out of place
Lost and found, shakened but stern
Relearning what I once knew and felt
Praying in time to get it all back
Felling pains not felt before
Waiting at the bottom of my perch
Hoping soon to fly before the smoke can still my breath

Drew's Final Set
Bob is in the background
As gin pours over
Strawberry colored sand
From the shoreline of
An ocean of sawdust,
And as he pedels his
Blue crusier up to
The front of his Fish-shape
He grins and hangs ten
As friends wave good-bye
From their pier of broken peace.
However, as he surfs into
The pipeline of sunshine,
Let not our tear filled eyes
Blur our vision, for he has risen
Into the souls of us all
And it is here in this place,
He shall dwell forever.

Poem 1000
Sometimes life will give you rocks
And other times it's roses
Just remember that the roses have thorns
And the rocks are plentiful
All you have to do is look down
and you will find them
Don't be decieved by shallow beauty
Unless you wish to be pricked

33 To 45 Rpms
The cycle of life is a neverending rotation of pain
That spins round and round at differentiating speeds.
Bringing back the past
As it throws me into a cold, dark future.
And no matter how fast I run towards tommorrow,
Yesterday will show it's familiar face
As a stumbling block
That will surely put me on my rear.

Back Home
I just got back
from where
that one place where the stars burn bright
in the night in the fight to keep away the
fright of your dreams that reflect
moonbeams in a wave of streams rolling
across my face each second
I beckon you my shining star
I am here come home to hour place of glass
where father time stands still when we
spill our sands across the face of mother
nature while smiling terribly at my own face

To Her
A Letter to My True Love

Our love seems gone
But your eyes still comfort me in my sleep
I see them in the sky
I see them in the trees
And when I see there match
It brings me to my knees
For you I breathe
For you I speak and cry

Why I ask
Do you elude me in this dream
Will you always wait for me
There down by the stream
Just let me know somehow
So that I can be sure it's you
My mistress, these games have wearied my spirit
Let's stop this foolish game
Let's bring it back
So things can be the same

A woman's sweet desire
Outside by June-Grass
Warm intimately delicious
Laugh blue sky
Love without end
