I wrote this after butchering a friendship I had with a girl.
The sun won't feel so warm today
now that you've had to go;
the stars won't look so bright tonight
for surely I should know:

To treat a girl like that is just
too much for her to take;
though if I had my time again
the same mistakes I'd make.

For each new day is time again
these tests I've had before
yet still I fail miserably
left hurting to the core.

Your forgiveness I do not seek
its not mine to bestow
in sorrow I will learn to reap
the fruits of what I sow.

The past I cannot seek to change
the future's yet to be:
all I ever have is just
this moment presently.

If only I could find a way
to live my life like this:
doing what's right, right now, then things
would never go amiss.
