falling fast for you...
It flutters,
I can’t quite catch my breath

In a permanent state of incompletion;
So completely unattainable
So desirable…

A complex mix of aching and floating,
Longing and forfeit

To speak could be to lose you,
To remain silent, to lose myself;
A choice…

Thinking of you brings warmth,
Softness, glowing;
A pressure in my chest
That I struggle to free myself from

Every word is only me,
I am alone in your universe;
You are unaware

Fanciful dreams pollute my imagination
In waking and sleep;
‘What if’s’, ‘should I’s’ and ‘could I’s’
Replace practical thoughts

Thoughts venture into territory
Which would scandalize if they were heard

Abstract reminders
In your essence
Taunt me

But then…

Life reminds me:
I am here,
You are there;
And so I carry on
