The most base, yet occasionally most profound
Flames encircle this brow
Torturing my flesh
Yet all is deserved
And is welcome yet.

The crime I said
The things I did
No one denies
Payment is due

Welcome indeed!
My time is near
I did these things
For those who were dear

Sweet vengeance
I claimed three lives
For each that they took
And gave my life as well

Now I've been judged
Found entirely wanting
With no grace at all
Only hate in my heart

What, I ask,
Do you think drives
A man to extremes
If not love for another?
