Poem about a woman as she prepares for sleep.
As the pearly moon rises and faint shadows fall
Her head molds into the feathery pillow.
She stares out the window at the stars
Each one shimmering like a dream.
She wonders if mankind’s dreams float in the twilight sky
As curious spectacles of light and brilliance
Reflected across the overwhelming backdrop of night.

Her thoughts turn slightly towards the moon
Whose majesty betrays a certain sense of purity
Found, not on earth, but
Only in the loving arms of the heavens.
Such a queen of the celestial bodies
Sharing her throne with none other than her King.

She turns away from the scene of midnight
Awaiting her dreams to pull her in.
Her thoughts dissolve as if nothing there had existed.
Her mind sways, back and forth, until all is still.
And soon, she is asleep.
