adult poem of irish (parody) marriage
twas in ireland i met me ladyfair
blood red lips and coal black hair
eyes of sparkling emrald green
a more stunning lass id never seen
she caught me eye one rainy night
i was in ye old pub tossing back a pint
when in she danced her skirts a twrill
all wondering eyes fell on that girl
'irish whiskey and make it tight'
she told the old bartender that fatefull night
he poured her drink and sat it there
she licked her lips
then tossed her hair
lifted the glass to her mouth
she drank it down
then i heard her shout
'be damned ye men of irelands own
ya love me then leave me all alone
so i piss in ya cup
and laugh when ya cry
i dont give a swagger iffin all of ya die"
oh what a sassy wench she was
a regular tiger in the form of a dove
i fell in love with that feisty young gal
ill marry that one i told me pals
and marry we did by irelands green sea
that hot tempered lassie and old lustfull me
i couldnt keep her in whiskey
nor out of the pubs
and all of me loving she fiercely snubed
she wouldnt clean nor cook nor sweep
twas the same sad tale from week to week
she took me shillings and spent them on ale
married life was just like hell
till one day i slapped her and she kicked me out
and from behind me i heard her shout
'be damned ye men of irelands own
ya love me then leave me all alone
so i piss in ya cup
and laugh when ya cry
i dont give a swagger iffin all of ya die"
the end
