Wind blew sharper then daggers...She was past reason, past sanity.
Wind blew sharper then daggers. They tried to run, but there was no escaping. They were on an open field with nothing to block the cutting wind. She was past reason, past sanity. These men came into her home and burned it, people and all. They killed her father on the battle field; they stole her and forced her to use her powers. Now they were going to see what her full strength could unleash.

The man with her was oddly calm with such carnage all around him. Something in the pit of her stomach cried out whenever she looked at him. Even in her state of vengeance he scared her. He was from the other side, and that scared her as well. She was killing countless men, not the least bit frightened, but this one unarmed man gave her pause.

From the pits of her anger, ferocious derivatives of sadistic torment issued forth. Men's armor was cleaved off along with flesh and bone. Screams were cut off by other screams, and line after line of scattering troops fell to their death. The wind had a red tint to it. A swirling red cloud was upon them, killing all.

She would let none escape, methodically cutting everyone down. And through it all the man just stood and watched, arms held behind his back, surly relishing in the slaughter. A small smirk could be read on his face as a particularly large group of men were all decapitated at once.

The wind died down. The panicked men slowly regained their senses. She was done toying with them .She knew what she was about to unleash, and it would tear their souls from their bodies, most painfully. It was ancient magic, dangerous and sealed away. But these men were about the forbidden and so would understand her use of it. She raised her arms to the sky, and it began.

The blood soaked ground began to rumble. Many men's footing gave away, causing them to crash to the softened ground. The blood began to rise; a thick layer of red mist filled the field. As men began to realize what was happening the sun was cut off. Shadows and darkness was all that was left. The sky became filled with deadly dark clouds. Their presence seemed to absorb light and drain feelings, only leaving behind darkness and fear. The remaining forces, still great in number, sights became fixed to the sky. What little light that was left allowed them to see the clouds bubble and drip above them. A celestial cauldron was boiling and about to overflow onto them. The sickly site brewed and twisted. A funnel appeared. The forming vortex could very well have been a portal into an untold hell dimension.

"Esen! Esen! Stop this" A haggard voice shouted, as a white haired young man ran over gasping for air. "Thank goodness I made it in time" She didn't budge. "If you do this," each word was strained. He must have seen the clouds from a mile away, and began to run in a dead sprint to make it in time. "Remember, the power of the ancients. You could kill this entire army, but that would only be the start of the spell!" Esen knew exactly of what he spoke. Once the lives off the entire army had been taken, the evocation would spawn a life of its own. It would become a wondering force, killing indiscriminately, all the while gaining strength. Putting to end such a power would not be easily done. She knew what her fate would be, if she finished the spell. She would become the vessel in which the power took. She would become a damned soul forever changed. These spells were once used in times of war, almost causing an end to all life. Esen knew they were sealed away for good reason.

"Don't let this evil be unleashed!" The white haired man yelled, hoping to get through to her. "If you do this you know what you'll become." Her face remained as stone.

"I have nothing left, nothing to go back to. No family, no temple, no sisters. I have nothing to lose and I am the only one left to exact punishment on those scum." Her tone was low. Her words shook with emotion.

"Your father would not have wanted this!"

"You don't know anything!" Esen yelled out to the sky.

The white haired man walked in front of her, looking strait into her eyes. "I knew your father and I know you. This is wrong." She merely turned her head, breaking the intense gaze.

"Leave me be, if you don't want to die as well"

"Then strike me down, just use your own powers, not this ancient spell."

"These men do not deserve to live" The other man, who had remained quite up until now offered. "They have caused you so much pain and suffering. It is only right to repay them."

The dimly lit red fog began to thicken. The sky called to it. In an instant the fog collected and shot into the sky, and pulled into the vortex. An eerie red light began to issue forth, lighting the battle field in its glow.

"Don't..." a hard impact from a gust of wind knocked the white haired man back, causing him to roll down the slope.

"Good. Now end it." The ominous man said slowly.

She knew how easy it would be to kill them all. How the men would began to feel strange, lightheaded. Try as their hearts might, beating would do nothing. Their blood would no longer be able to flow, causing untold pain. Then, all of their blood would flow into their skulls and burst free. The sky would call to it and drink of it.

"Do it" he insisted, becoming impatient with her hesitation.

The men began to scream. The entire battle field was in pain. She paused, moments from releasing. But, her arms dropped, and the noise died down.

"What are you doing?" he hissed.

"We are done here." There was no questioning her decision. She then pointed off into the distance. A forest of dead trees and swamp for as far as the eye could see loomed before them.

"The death lady will help us get back what this army stole. She will revive my three sisters, then we will send back to the forbidden realm. These men will suffer the pain all the elements they sought to controll." The man nodded ever so slightly and began to follow her.
