Paths of life we choose
Our lives all begin the same, with our birth, where we head from there is left to ourselves. We may choose to stay and listen to our parents, our guides in this wonderful new life. They will guide us hand in hand down the first path of life, many roads and curves ahead of us .Guided by their love they will keep us safe from harm allowing us to observe the beauty of this road. As we age slowly, we release their hands to walk on our own.

One step ahead we hear their direction. Watch your step, a left there, a right here guiding us into adulthood. The more we age the greater the steps are between our parents and ourselves, still close enough to hear their guidance. Teaching us how to overcome the various obstacles in life, so we may be prepared for our future. However some of us break free of their hands too early in life.

Too far ahead and too early in our lives we run out of their sight. Unable to hear their guidance or direction, we become lost as the path changes and the road curves ahead. Constantly forging ahead tackling danger and flirting closely with disaster, searching for our way back to the right path. Here at this point, we realize we can't keep going ahead.

Changing direction we spend many years in retreat searching for the point we broke free from. Attempting to turn back time, realizing if we find that point the path will be empty. Our guides have moved on, the only knowledge we have learned is which road not to travel. Another path has been chosen, another journey to begin.Still on ou own.

The new road is calmer, safer but offers little. The struggle and battles we have faced previously makes this path long and boring. A generic path with no beauty to show. No excitement, no risk and no reward, pointlessly drifting ahead, dying slowly.
Ahead we come to yet another crossroad a chance to change direction again,a chance for new life.

What this path will bring we don't yet know for we have not traveled it. Optimism looms large in our guts. The tools we will carry are those of what we have learned, but more precisely what was important to our parents. This is where I leave the others that have traveled the same paths as myself, moving forward on my own.

On this new path I will carry with me laughter, creativity, and God, gifts from my mother in heaven. From my father I will carry strength, determination and perserverance. This is a new time a new place and a new journey. I turn to all and wish good travels as I take my first steps.
