A short poem about my feelings of flying
To Fly Would Be To Finally Live

The sky is so blue,
The air is so clear,
And here I am stuck,
Just standing down here.

I see the bird fly over,
I hear the flap of his wings,
I see him perch in the tree,
And I sigh as he sings.

I know what I want,
To jump in the air,
Spread out my arms,
And take off from there.

To soar with the Eagle,
To spin with the Sparrow,
To dive with the Hawk,
As fast as an arrow.

The shrill whistle I copy,
The feathers I keep,
But to leave from this earth,
I can't and I weep.

I wish I could feel,
The freedom and peace,
This shall not stop,
Nor shall it cease.

I know it's my fate,
My feet on this ground,
And a metal beast,
Is all the aid that is found.

But the wind is hidden,
My hair stays still,
And the whine of engines,
In my ears sounds shrill.

I know I'll truly live,
When I fly in the air,
But here I am stuck,
Just standing down here.
