I prefer to leave things open to interpretation.
He mines his way through the cold morning wind
Weaving bittersweet thoughts beneath your skin
Pleading to a deaf ear that cannot feel undone
Two souls broken into pieces that once tried to be one

Long before the start, he closed his eyes and locked his heart
He doesn't know why but still he tries to find the missing part
Long before his story was told he didn't know but his soul was sold
He walks alone with no one to turn to when he needs a hand to hold

There's no one looking out for him, no one to share the dream
Still he carries on with eyes drawn long holding back that scream
Carry on and wait, carry on and bleed, just give yourself to me
Remorse to drift alone with when there's no one that he needs

He still burns and pines for that one thing he will never find
He likes to turn to the sky for the reasons to the why
But its just empty space without a name or face
A home to place the blame, an excuse to stay the same

What he doesn't know he cannot fear
He walks a lonely road he thinks will take him far from here
He soldiers on though he doesn't know the way
And with every step and memory he slowly fades away
