A poem to ecourage trust in love, and the patience to do so.
Thou art reluctant to except my affections?
Why? -doth thou not believe?
E’er searching the why’s and wherefores to disprove
The radiant purity of my intentions
Thy heart knows of mine’s adulation
Can thy mind not perceive?
It is I who I shall always be who stands before you
There is naught in me that could deceive
Nor transfigure a fictitious love into true
Thou has no faith in me?
Then why pray tell would I argue for our love?
Would I not defer and seek meaningless comfort elsewhere?
Perhaps taking a stake as does the local clientele?
Nay - I remain steadfast to you like none other
Laying in wait for the future to foretell
If thy heart and mine will transform from friend to lover
For I know there is none other in this world for me
And on the morrow to e’er after -
I will be here, awaiting you
