My most "famous" poem...
Her hair is dark as smoothest caramel
Her eyes gleam with a secret fire of richest passion and joy
As I look into her smiling face, radiant as a riverside sunrise,
I gaze upon the face of what must be the world's only living angel.
The heavens themselves cry out to me, calling her name
Telling me that it is she that will set my heart to beating again, and yet
When I look upon her, my heart skips a beat
A fluttering does stir in my chest and the breaths I take,
I take sparingly, as if I were giving her the air I do not need
For without her smile, I would not need it.
My life is forfeit should joy leave her cheeks,
Should her face flushed with brilliant life grow dark or somber,
Should the very essence of her radiant spirit be taken away
I would hunt down the source of this destruction,
This desecration
This sacrilidge
To the ends of the earth I would ride for a cure to her gloom.
To Hell and back I would fight for a way to put the radiance back into her spirit;
This spirit which has captured my heart.
And should I give false hope to this, my most beloved dream,
I would not die, nor shed a tear, for her presence would linger still on my memory
In her eyes of emerald
In her hair of dark silk
The radiance of soul will live.
