The only real search.
Blurred eyes take in the view, the jail cell on the floor, the forest out the door. Light paints a picture too cruel for words, and your blinds seem as unpenetrable as a steel curtain. Lingering through life you pull yourself up to the window, the moon is out once again, the chase begins anew. The door pushes itself open with a tantalizing breath, one that is all too familiar, one that you cannot ignore. The moon is bright, and the air is fresh.

Take a breath, then take a step, you're not suprised to find you're lost again. You never thought that this path would lead you back home, but then again you never thought you would leave that path that was marked by your footprints, and you're footprints alone. You never thought the moon would lead you away, into these dark moss covered trees. But it did, and you followed it full heartedly, regardless of the obstacles. Vines hang like the memories of friends passed, hanging from nooses of moonlight. The trees are thick, and the pain is great, but what else would fill this void, for what other reason should you live?

The path leads on for hours, until you break into a field, and you see her. The moon shines down on hundreds of wandering figures. All look vaguely familiar, but you're attention is not on the others who have gathered here. You are focused on the moon, and the moon alone. Streaks of light pierce through the sky like spotlights, soaking the faces of those below. Every so often it snags someone up in the air, and hurtles them into the forest, forming a noose as they fly. Even as this happens everyone stares up, eyes full of hope, but faces etched in fear. Dim light slowly faded on some faces, and bright light blinded others. Some destroyed this light, and the light destroyed many more. Some ran from it, and other's chased it with a reckless abandon.

You soon join this eternal hunt, all the time thinking.

"I've found the moon, I've finally found it."
